Ingredients:
- 4 medium Bosc or Anjou pears
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice each pear in half lengthwise.
- Use a small spoon or melon baller to scoop out the core and seeds from each half, creating a small well in the center.
- Arrange the pear halves cut-side up in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Spoon approximately 1 tablespoon of the cinnamon mixture into the center of each pear half.
- Place one small cube of butter on top of the cinnamon mixture in each pear half.
- Sprinkle chopped walnuts directly into the center of each pear.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the pears are fragrant, the glaze is bubbling, and a fork slides into the fruit with no resistance.
- Remove from the oven and let the pears rest for 5 minutes to allow the syrup to thicken before serving.
