Ingredients:

  • 4 large Bosc pears
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup raw honey
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice each pear in half lengthwise.
  3. Use a melon baller or spoon to scoop out the center seeds, creating a small well in each half.
  4. Brush the cut side of the pears with melted butter and place them cut side up in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, cinnamon, ginger, salt, and vanilla extract until smooth. Note: Microwave for 10 seconds if the honey is too thick to pour.
  6. Drizzle the honey mixture evenly into the center of each pear, allowing some to pool at the bottom of the dish.
  7. Place the dish on the center rack of the oven.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes until the edges soften and the glaze bubbles into a deep amber syrup.
  9. Top with chopped walnuts and dried cranberries during the last 5 minutes of baking to toast the nuts.
