Ingredients:
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/8 tsp red pepper flakes
- 8 medium corn tortillas
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, whisk together the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Place a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef in a flat layer and sear undisturbed for 3–4 minutes until a dark brown crust forms. Break the meat into small crumbles and cook until no pink remains.
- Sprinkle the spice blend over the browned beef and stir for 60 seconds until aromatic. Pour in the water or beef broth, reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer for 5–7 minutes until the liquid reduces into a thick glaze.
- Warm the tortillas in a pan until heated through and slightly charred.
